'A Really Good Performance' - Mat Sadler Reacts to Walsall's Latest Defeat

Here's how the gaffer saw the Saddlers' League Two meeting with the Magpies.
Walsall boss Mat Sadler insisted his team should have taken all three points as they slipped to their second defeat in as many games with a 2-1 defeat to Notts County.

The Saddlers opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time when Aaron Pressley grabbed just his sixth goal of the campaign.

However, after failing to make more of several chances in front of goal, they were pegged back by Oli Norburn's superb strike before a Maz Kouhyar-assisted Jodi Jones snatched the win in second-half stoppage time.

Speaking to the assembled media, Sadler said: "It is difficult to bring perspective because you want to win games, and Notts County fans didn't give a hoot that they didn't play well for periods of the game.

"Sat in my shoes, sat in my place – all you can think about is that. If we keep playing like that, then results will turn, and we'll get back on that front foot and winning games.

"It was frustrating to give them that bit of something in the game, but when it's only one-nil, you're always at the liberty of that.

"For eighty minutes, it was a really good performance, and we didn't capitalise on some of the other opportunities that we had.

"And we weren't quite clinical enough to make it two-nil, which we deserved."
