Walsall Under-18s returned to action on Saturday afternoon as they made their way to Greater Manchester and took on Stockport County Under-18s in their latest EFL Youth Alliance – North outing of the season. After enjoying a strong spell of form, the young Saddlers will reach this weekend's match on the back of a duo of defeats, as they lost 2-1 to Shrewsbury Town in the Alliance last Saturday, before suffering a Birmingham Senior Cup loss at the hands of Stourbridge in midweek.
WALSALL
Harrison Barber; Ellis Harris, Marley Roberts, Sam Oliver, Jakub Pawlowski, Finn Batham, Archie Bunn, Dylan Thomas, Paul Makavore, Will Etheridge, Fin Teesdale
Substitutes: Fraser Hamilton-Wright; Zion Tuitt, Levi Wain, Ayden Bryant, Lincoln Hunt
Sadly for Walsall, they were unable to return to winning ways, as, after playing out a goalless first-half, the home side ran rampant and scored five goals in the second forty-five to take all three points with ease.
A very disappointing afternoon for Ryan Simmonds and his young Saddlers, as they look ahead to a trip to Wales net weekend, where they'll be taking on Wrexham.
