Sadler Calls for Focus as Walsall Edged Out by Late Goal

Here's how the gaffer saw the Saddlers' League Two meeting with Oldham Athletic.
Walsall boss Mat Sadler has called upon his team to focus as they ended the calendar year with a disappointing defeat to Oldham Athletic.

Falling behind to a Joe Garner goal after fifteen minutes, the Saddlers levelled the scores via Daniel Kanu's tenth league goal of the season.

Sadly, the Saddlers couldn't hold on to take at least a point, as Kian Harratt scored for the visitors in the sixth-minutes of second-half stoppage time.

Speaking to the assembled media, Sadler said: "Credit to them, they came to be really hard to beat, and the opposition worked their socks off, which is something we're going to face.

"We're a team in the division where it's a tough place to go for opposition teams, and they come to try their absolute best against us. That's how it is.

"Today was a battle of set plays that they came out on top of, and other days will be different. In the end, they get that moment at the end where you just wanted to see that final bit of the game out.

"The thing that we're usually strong at, we're now going to have to refocus and get back to that."
