Powell made the move to the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium in late September, following the news that Gary Waddock was due to undergo surgery on an injures ankle and would require several months of rehab.
However, after just a couple of weeks, 56-year-old Powell, who amassed a wealth of experience both as a player and as a coach, having managed almost 300 matches with the likes of Charlton Athletic, Huddersfield Town and Southend United, has agreed to join another club.
Confirmed via their official website, League One strugglers Luton Town has confirmed that Powell will join former Arsenal and West Ham United midfielder Jack Wilshere's backroom team, with Walsall FC issuing a statement, wishing him all the best.
