Walsall boss Mat Sadler hailed his team as they made their way to Buckinghamshire and inflicted the first defeat of the league season on opponents MK Dons on Saturday afternoon.
With the Dons going five league games without defeat, the Saddlers scored the only goal of the contest via Charlie Lakin's opening strike of the season to secure three welcome points.
Speaking to the assembled media, Sadler said: "I thought we showed three or four different sides to us in the game, which is really important.
"For the first thirty-five minutes, especially, we showed that in possession stuff.
"We were moving the ball from side to side, creating overloads and getting into some really good positions.
"Charlie had a couple of good chances, and we were very much on top in that first half."
The Saddlers were forced into a couple of changes as Evan Weir was forced off during the first-half before Jamie Jellis made way at the break, but the gaffer believes his team handled the situation well, he continued: "The change just jolted us in terms of the new relationships on the pitch.
"Credit to Priestley coming on in that situation, I thought he did brilliantly, but it takes a bit of time to adapt to it."
