There are a handful of Saddlers currently out on loan, with players from the academy and first-team looking to impress and potentially force their way into Mat Sadler's first-team plans.
Jenson Kilroy • Evesham United
Jenson was named in the starting XI as Evesham took on Weymouth in their opening Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South game of the season on Saturday afternoon.
The match was a successful one for the young stopper and his new team as goals from Ethan Dunbar, Josh Barlow, and Levi Steele saw them win by three-goals-to-two — Brandon Goodship getting on the scoresheet early in the second half for Weymouth.
Not a clean sheet, but some valuable competitive match minutes for Jenson as he looks to make the most of his short-term spell away from WS1.
Dylan Thomas • Worcester City
Dylan was a late second-half substitute as Worcester suffered an agonising late defeat at home to Quorn on Saturday afternoon.
Replacing Kyle Belmonte with seventy-five minutes on the clock, Thomas could do little more than watch as Finn O’Boyle took advantage of some miscommunication between a defender and goalkeeper Haydn Whitcombe to slot the ball home in stoppage time.
Levi Amantchi • Rochdale
Levi was a second-half substitute as Rochdale defeated Boreham Wood by two-goals-to-nil at Meadow Park in Hertfordshire.
Having to sit on the sidelines for much of the match, he replaced former Saddler Devante Rodney with just eighteen minutes of the second half still to play.
The game had already been settled before Levi took to the field as Emmanuel Dieseruvwe grabbed a brace to see the Dale open their National League campaign in style.
Charlie Wragg • Halesowen Town
Charlie came off the bench to score his opening goal of the season as the Yeltz were held to a draw by Leiston on Saturday afternoon.
Falling behind to an unfortunate Jak Hickman own goal, Town levelled via McKauley Manning, taking the game to the break all-square.
Charlie replaced Todd Parker at the break and went on to put his team ahead thanks to Hickman's assist, but the scoring didn't end there as Joao Rangel levelled twelve minutes before full-time.
