Following the news that he will be leaving the club upon the expiry of his contract, Club Captain Donervon Daniels has issued a statement, thanking everyone for their support during his stay in WS1.Joining the Saddlers from Crewe Alexandra in January 2022, Daniels has gone on to make 117 first-team appearances, though missed much of the recent campaign through injury, managing just 13 appearances over the course of the campaign.
Speaking via his official Instagram account, Daniels said: "To my incredible Saddlers fans and family, With immense pride and emotion, I announce I have played my final game for the football club.
"This marks a significant moment in my three-and-a-half-year journey here. The road hasn’t always been smooth, but that’s part of what makes football so exhilarating!
"We’ve faced countless challenges together, especially this season, but each moment has contributed to our shared growth as players, fans, and everyone involved with this great club.
"Serving as the Captain of Walsall has been an honour I cherish deeply. I have gained invaluable experiences on and off the pitch throughout my time here.
