Darren Byfield Issues Rallying Cry as Walsall Reach Play-Off Final

No stranger to victory in the Play-Offs, the former striker has praised the fans for their backing.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsWalsall coach Darren Byfield has taken to social media to issue a rallying cry as he and the club prepare for their League Two Play-Off Final against AFC Wimbledon at Wembley Stadium.

Taking place at the national stadium on Monday, 26th May, the Saddlers will take on the Dons as the two sides go to war in a bid to secure promotion to the third tier of English football.

Booking their place alongside Wimbledon with a superb 4-1 aggregate victory over Chesterfield, Walsall fans, players, and coaches are unsurprisingly fired up following a season that saw the teams taste the highs and lows of the beautiful game.

Speaking via his official X account, Byfield said: "I don’t even know what to say, but I’ll give it a go, last night was epic.

"It has been an emotional rollercoaster, and now we have 1 game to go. The players have been superb, been flying high, and then we hit difficult times, but yet we are still here fighting with a trip to Wembley.

"For the fans, we’ve put you through it but yet you’ve still sang [sic] your hearts out and that’s why we love you, we have 1 massive game to go, and it will be tough whoever we face.

"You’re more than a 12th man, you’re the soul of our football club, so let’s keep fighting till the end."
