Walsall Considering More Signings as Four Trialists are Believed to Have Been Identified

Fans believe they have identified the prospective Saddlers who took on Leamington in midweek.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsFollowing Tuesday evening's pre-season triumph over Leamington, which saw Danny Johnson, Douglas James-Taylor, and Isaac Hutchinson hit the back of the net, Walsall are believed to have at least four players on trial.

Along with former Saddlers attacker Milan Lalkovic are, ex-Carlisle United goalkeeper Michael Kelly, former Fleetwood Town defender Darnell Johnson, and Alvecurch prospect Harry Williams.

All four are understood to have featured during the 4-1 win over the Brakes, with Lalkovic catching the eye of many of those in attendance, with a solid second-half display.

26-year-old Kelly, who stands at 6ft 5', could offer some welcome competition to Owen Evans, who spent much of last season without any following the departure of Adam Pryzbek.

Though a bit short of EFL experience, Kelly has made several appearances for various clubs in the League of Ireland, including spells with Longford Town, Cabinteely, and Bray Wanderers.

Meanwhile, defender Johnson is a former Leicester City scholar, who rose up through the Foxes academy but didn;t go on to make a first-team appearance for the King Power Stadium outfit.

He did, however, gain plenty of experience with loan spells at the likes of Hibernian, Wigan Athletic, and AFC Wimbledon before joining Fleetwood on a permanent basis in 2021.

Harry Williams is a former West Bromwich Albion prospect who joined the 'Church after leaving Burnley at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

Walsall are yet to confirm which players Head Coach Mat Sadler is considering, though there have been a few sightings in social media videos as eagle-eyed fans look for clues.
