PRE-MATCH NEWS & VIEWS
The Saddlers are back in action on Saturday afternoon as they welcome Swindon Town to Poundland Bescot Stadium, with the Reds having a rare opportunity to do the double over the Robins.
After scraping past their opponents on Boxing Day, Michael Flynn's side have won, drawn, and lost, though not necessarily in that order, and will be looking to improve upon last weekend's one-all draw with Tranmere Rovers, and a result which though better than losing, saw a few issues arise as their opponents probably should have won.
Along with the less-than-stellar display, Walsall saw defender Manny Monthé dismissed for two bookable offences and, as a result, will have to do without one of their star performers as they look to return to winning ways.
Along with Manny, Flynn's flock will also be without Danny Johnson as the fifteen-goal striker has now returned to Mansfield Town as the two clubs failed to come to terms on a deal, though they remain in talks as he looks to be on his way out of the club, one way or another.
Looking at opponents Swindon Town, and the Robins arrive at the match on the back of a comfortable five-nil thrashing of Grimsby Town and a result which saw them maintain their place in the Play-Off's.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
There have been a total of one-hundred-and-four competitive meetings between Walsall and Swindon Town. And it's the Robins who hold a small overall lead having won thirty-nine times compared to the Saddlers' thirty-six.
There have also been twenty-nine draws over the history of the fixture, a history which began at the County Ground on Saturday, 15th October 1927 as the two sides met in a Division Three (South) clash which the Robins won by five-goals-to-nil.
The Saddlers would go on to lose the next two meetings, conceding another seven goals in the process, as their opponents enjoyed a strong start to the rivalry.
In fact, Walsall wouldn't secure their first victory over Swindon until their fifth meeting, which took place at Fellows Park on Monday, 23rd September 1929, and saw the Saddlers triumph four-nil.
THE LAST TIME WE MET
The most recent meeting between the Saddlers and Robins took place at the County Ground on Boxing Day, Monday, 26th December 2022, and saw Walsall win by two-goals-to-one as Manny Monthé's late effort secured all three points for his side.
Ellis Iandolo had initially given his side the lead before Romeao Hutton's own goal levelled the scores before Manny broke home fans' hearts in second-half stoppage time.
MATCH OFFICIALS
The EFL has confirmed that Thomas Parsons, who is based in Lancashire, will be the man in the middle, whilst Michael Webb and Abbas Khan have been named assistant referees. Joe Simpson will act as Fourth Official.
