Former Saddlers loanee Danny Johnson has taken to Twitter and thanked the Walsall fans, players, and staff for their support during his time at Poundland Bescot Stadium.
Johnson, who recently returned to parent club Mansfield Town after netting an impressive fifteen goals in thirty first-team appearances for the Saddlers, called upon the supporters to get behind the team as they look to reach the Play-Off places over the second half of the campaign.
Speaking via his official Twitter account, Danny said; "I would like to thank everyone [at Walsall Football Club] for my time at the club, I’ve loved it.
"A club I’ll always look out for now. To the fans you’ve been amazing from day one.
"Get behind the staff and the lads for the rest of the season and I hope you have a strong finish! #Saddlers."
Walsall had been chasing Danny's signature since the summer Transfer Window after the Mansfield chairman made a late U-turn and forced the Saddlers to accept a loan deal despite already agreeing terms on a permanent deal.
With his statement, it has now become clear that the club has once again failed in its attempts to sign DJ, with the striker wishing them all the best for the future.
