Timmy Abraham came off the bench to score the winning goal for Oldham as they defeated Torquay United 3-2 during the televised clash on Sunday afternoon.

Joined in the line-up by Peter Clarke - the veteran defender continuing his spell in the starting XI - Timmy netted his first goal in an Oldham shirt as they moved to within a point of safety by denying the Gulls, who had twice got themselves back on level terms.

The Latics opened the scoring via Dylan Crow's first-half own goal before Torquay levelled the scores by way of Will Goodwin's effort six minutes into the second half but Ben Tollitt restored Oldham's advantage as he slammed the ball into the top corner.

Aaron Jarvis scored from the penalty spot in the 68th minute, but Saddler Abraham (74') had the final word after replacing Hallam Hope just before the hour mark.
