Walsall boss Michael Flynn has spoken to the media following his side's welcome 3-1 win over AFC Wimbledon and praised his players for their ruthless display.
Goals from Issac Hutchinson, who opened his account for the season, Danny Johnson and Tom Knowles saw the Saddlers build upon their midweek win over Northampton Town - securing back-to-back wins for the first time since the opening few games of the season.
Flynn, who has seen his side struggle for form for much of the opening few months of the season, believes his team did well to 'kill off' their opponents after initially being dragged back onto level terms after Ryley Towler had levelled the scores midway through the first-half.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Flynn said; "We killed them off, the first time we have done that since the opening day of the season.
"It’s the first time in thirteen games we have scored more than one and we had fewer opportunities today than I think in any other game.
"It is seven points from a possible nine. It has been a good week. I was relieved when we scored the third.
"Wimbledon have got a good team and you never know, we have been bitten a few times already this season."
