Match Stats: Walsall 3 AFC Wimbledon 1

Here are the Match Stats from the Saddlers' League Two meeting with AFC Wimbledon.
Walsall returned to action on Saturday afternoon as they welcomed AFC Wimbledon to Poundland Bescot Stadium for a League Two clash.

Looking to build upon their midweek victory over Northampton Town, which saw Danny Johnson net his ninth goal of the season, Michael Flynn's side were hoping to move further from the drop zone and get their season back on track.

The Saddlers enjoyed a superb start to the game and were able to put themselves into the lead with five minutes on the clock as summer signing Isaac Hutchinson grabbed his first goal of the season.

Sadly for the Saddlers, their lead didn't last as Ryley Towler put the visitors back on level terms midway through the first-half after Walsall failed to clear a Dons corner.

After enduring plenty of pressure from the visitors, Walsall went on to re-take the lead as on-loan Mansfield Town man Danny Johnson netted his tenth goal of the season.

The Saddlers went on to secure the points deep into second-half stoppage time as substitute Tom Knowles gave his side a two-goal advantage.
