PRE-MATCH VIEWS
The Saddlers will reach Bank Holiday Monday's match on the back of a welcome one-nil victory over Carlisle United, a victory which secured them a place in League Two for at least another season and ended a four-game winless streak.

Despite their victory and resulting safety, many of the current crop are playing for their futures as Head Coach Michael Flynn looks set to undertake an almost complete squad overhaul in the summer.

With the club still reeling over the loss of forward Conor Wilkinson, the former Leyton Orient man looks set to miss the whole of the 2022/23 season after suffering an ACL injury, there is scope for one or all of the club's remaining forwards to stake their claim for a place in the matchday squad.

Although some may already have sealed their fate as far too many points have been allowed to fall by the wayside as the team went through several stages of dismal form before eventually securing their place in the fourth tier.

Opponents Crawley Town also arrive at the match on the back of a win, the Red Devils defeating Newport County on Good Friday, a result which saw them secure their fourth win in five league games.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
Walsall and Crawley Town have met on just twelve previous occasions and it's the Saddlers who hold a small overall lead having won on four previous occasions, compared to the Red Devils' three.

There have also been five draws over the history of the fixture, a history which began at the Broadfield Stadium on Saturday, 17th November 2012 as the two sides met in a League One clash which would see four goals scored but would ultimately end all-square.

MAN IN THE MIDDLE
The EFL has confirmed that Peter Wright, who is based on Merseyside, will be the man in the middle, whilst Darren Blunden and Stephen Finch have been named assistant referees. Andy Bennett will act as Fourth Official.
