Walsall Head Coach Brian Dutton looks set to remain at the helm until at least the end of the current campaign, despite recent suggestions of an impending departure.
Dutton, who saw his side secure their place in the fourth tier with a victory over Scunthorpe United at the weekend, hinted that the match could be his last during post-match interviews.
The former development coach has secured just three wins from the eighteen games he has led since replacing Darrell Clarke, who has gone on to reverse the fortunes of near-rivals Port Vale.
36-year-old Dutton used his post-match mutterings to call upon the club to clarify his future and it appears they have done just that with officials likely to make a permanent decision after the season has come to an end in just two games' time.
Following the appointment of Jamie Fullarton as Technical Director rumours have been rife with the club seemingly set to appoint a new man as the former Crystal Palace man looks to rebuild the backroom set up and try to reverse the fortunes of the currently struggling Saddlers.
It is not known if the club is planning to retain Dutton's services whilst employing greater support, the gaffer is currently joined by player/ coach Mat Sadler and goalkeeping coach Maik Taylor, or cut all ties in the summer.
What we do know is that we should all expect a busy summer of change in our portion of the Black Country with many of the current crop, including head coach Dutton, set to see their contracts come to an end.
