Stuart Sinclair: Consistency is Key

Midfielder Stuart Sinclair has insisted the Saddlers will be working hard to cut out the errors.
Walsall midfielder Stuart Sinclair has spoken to club journalists and insisted the team will work hard to cut out the mistakes as their search for consistency continues.

Despite enjoying a four-match winning run during December, the Saddlers ended 2020 with a duo of defeats before opening the new calendar year with another loss.

Darrell Clarke’s side now have a fortnight without a competitive outing but are set for a busy few weeks of work at the training ground as they look to return to winning ways.

The Saddlers' next match will see them face Oldham Athletic on Saturday, 16th and Sinclair is determined to see his team cut out the errors and make more of their goal-scoring opportunities.

Speaking via the club's official website, Stuart said; "I still think for us it’s consistency, making sure we are consistent and we make ourselves tough to beat and do the right things in the right areas and we build from there.

"I think sometimes we have lax moments and that’s what causes us not to be consistent so that is something we have to work on, look at and self-evaluate over the next two weeks to make sure that when we come back, we’re making those margins even tighter and cutting out those little mistakes that we are making to swing the other way.

"We were on a good run and we were playing well so to lose the three is disappointing, just to keep the consistency is what we really needed to do and we have to go back to the training ground, evaluate and make sure that in two weeks that we’re ready and pushing."
