Match Stats: Port Vale 1 Walsall 3

Here are the Match Stats from the Saddlers' League Two clash with Port Vale.
The Saddlers had drawn their two previous league outings and were looking to secure their first victory of 2021 as they took on the Valiants at Vale Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Saddlers started the game well and were able to go into the lead with just six minutes on the clock as Elijah Adebayo grabbed his ninth goal of the season, assisted by a neat Alfie Bates pass.

The home sider were able to get themselves back on level terms with twelve minutes of the first-half remaining as Tom Conlon unleashed a free-kick straight down the middle of goal past an floundering Liam Roberts.

Walsall would go back into the lead ten minutes into the second-half as Adebayo grabbed his tenth goal of the season, and his sixth in six appearances against Port Vale, to put his side back on the road to three points.

The Saddlers saw their lead extended midway through the half as David Fitzpatrick's back-pass bobbled past the scrambling the 'keeper and into the back of the net, giving the Reds a welcome buffer.
