Here we take our regular look at how the Saddlers' fringe players are doing as they look to force their way into the club's first-team plans.
Saddlers manager Darrell Clarke has opted to loan out young defender Tom Leak and experienced midfielder Gary Liddle as they get some much-needed first-team football.

Tom Leak retained his place in the Salisbury starting eleven as the whites played host to Tiverton Town in their latest BetVictor Southern League Premier Division South fixture of the season on Saturday afternoon.

It looked like it was going to be an afternoon to forget for Steve Claridge's side as goals from Alex Fletcher (24') and Jordan Bastin (25') put the visitors into a two-goal lead.

However, Daniel Fitchett's 37th minute goal put Salisbury back into the tie eight minutes before the break and, following red cards to Tiverton's River Allen's and Salisbury scorer Fitchett, Oliver Knowles (82') was able to level the scores and secure a point for his side.

Gary Liddle's will remain on-loan with Hartlepool for the remainder of the season, and celebrated his newly extended deal by retaining his place in the team for the trip to Barnet on Saturday afternoon.

The National League clash saw three goals scored but sadly for the Pools they were unable to take three points back up North.

Following Gavan Holohan's dismissal for a second bookable offence just three minutes into the second-half, substitute Paul McCallum just two minutes into his Bees his debut to give his new side the lead.

A Dan Sweeney (75') own goal gave Hartlepool some hope but that was short lived as Simeon Akinola (80') was able to score the all-important winning goal as Barnet moved above their opponents into 11th in the table.
