Here we take our regular look at how the Saddlers' fringe players are doing as they look to force their way into the club's first-team plans.
Darrell Clarke has opted to loan out young defender Tom Leak and experienced midfielder Gary Liddle as they get some much-needed first-team football.

Tom Leak's remains with BetVictor Southern League Premier Division South side Salisbury, and retained his place in the starting XI as they faced Chesham United on Saturday afternoon.

The match was a high-scoring affair with five goals scored as tenth-placed Salisbury defeated their title-chasing opponents as Oliver Knowles (22'), Tobias Holmes (62'), and Bay Downing (PEN - 78') netted for the home side.

Chesham were able to grab two goals of their own, Eion Casey (') and Karl Oliyide (74') hitting the back of the net, and even levelled the game at two-all before falling behind with twelve minutes of play remaining.

The well-travelled Gary Liddle, who recently joined Vanarama National League side Hartlepool United on a short-term loan, was unavailable for selection as the Pools took on Oxford United in the Third Round of the FA Cup.

Sadly for Gary his team were unable to extend their superb cup run as they fell to Oxford by four-goals-to-one as despite opening the scoring via Mark Kitching (9') Oxford would hit back via Rob Hall (52'), Shandon Baptiste (66'), Tarique Fosu (84'), and Matty Taylor (PEN - 87') to secure a place in Monday's Fourth Round draw.
