Goals from Steven Old and Carlos Mendes-Gomes proved to be enough to secure the win for the travelling Shrimps as Darrell Clarke's Saddlers slumped to their second defeat in as many games.
Clarke, who took his team into the match on the back of a disappointing defeat to Carlisle United, admitted that there were no excuses as his team were beaten by the team sitting just one place above the foot of the table.
