Darlaston Town (1874) 2 Walsall 2

Walsall FC sent a select XI to the Paycare Ground on Tuesday evening as they helped local side Darlaston Town (1874) to celebrate the official opening of their new floodlights.
Darlaston currently play in the West Midlands Regional League - Premier Division and are managed by Andy Parkes and will provide plenty of competition for an as-yet unnamed Saddlers XI as they continue to develop their Bentley Road North-based ground.

The Saddlers line-up, which included a trio of trialists, was made up by a mix of first-teamers and development players as the youth team was taking on Fleetwood Town in the Second Round of this season's FA Youth Cup.

Walsall had looked to be heading towards registering a welcome win against their lower league opponents as goals from Callum Derry (42') and James Hardy (62') had cancelled out Darlo's second-half leveller.

However, a last-minute strike was enough to break Saddlers hearts and see the home side take a deserved share of the spoils in front of 451 fans on a chilly evening in WS2.
