Caolan Lavery: "I'm Looking Forward to Kick-Starting My Season"

Walsall striker Caolan Lavery has spoken ahead of this weekend's League Two clash with Cambridge United and admitted is keen kick-start his season after a making his return from a six week injury lay-off.
The experienced striker made his first-team comeback against Swindon Town earlier this month and has already returned to the scoresheet after he netted Walsall’s equaliser against Darlington in the Emirates FA Cup last week.

The 27-year-old former Sheffield United striker returned to the starting line-up for the midweek EFL Trophy thrashing of Forest Green Rovers and insists he is now fully fit and looking to make an impact as the Saddlers face a 'big month' of matches.

Speaking via the club's official website, Caolan said; "I’m looking forward to kick-starting my season. All you want to do as a footballer is play football.

"When you’re injured it’s difficult because you have do work away from the group and when things aren’t going well, you want to be available and make a difference but now that I’m back I want to play a part. It’s a big month.

"Every game is important now, but hopefully we can push on and turnaround our league form. We’ve been saying for the last few weeks that every game is important but for whatever reason it hasn’t happened for us.

"We had a little talk in the dressing room and we’re all on the same page, we all want to do well so hopefully Tuesday is a stepping stone."
