Clarke, who had dropped Ferrier from the first team's pre-season preparations following the striker's request to leave the club, revealed that he and Morgan have had a 'good chat' and the forward has now returned to the fold.
Alongside new Sunderland midfielder George Dobson, Ferrier had been training with the Saddlers' youth team but manager Clarke now believes Morgan is buying into what he and his coaching staff are trying to achieve.
Speaking to the Express & Star's Walsall correspondent Joseph Masi, Darrell said; "Morgan did well, he is part of the group.
"We have had a good chat, I had a good sit down with him. Morgan’s fitness levels and the way he has been applying himself has been spot on.
"I will keep giving him a slap now and again because that is Morgan Ferrier. I haven’t got a problem with that. But he is buying into what we want here."
