Danny Guthrie 'Delighted' as His Signs for the Saddlers

Following the news that he'd become the Saddlers' tenth signing of the summer, experienced midfielder Danny Guthrie has spoken to club journalists and welcomed the opportunity to link-up with the Banks's Stadium club.
32-year-old Guthrie, who was part of the Walsall side which drew with Leamington on Tuesday evening, has made over one-hundred Premier League appearances over the course of his career, most notably with clubs such as Newcastle United and Reading.

Speaking via iFollow Walsall, Danny said; "I’m delighted to be with the club. I have been here just over a week now training with the lads and I played on Tuesday night.

"They are a great set of lads and the coaching staff are great as well. There is great energy in the group and hopefully, I can bring a bit of experience and composure.

"The gaffer is looking to bring a good mix of youth and experience into the squad so that we can give it a really good push this season.

"No team goes through a season without a sticky patch and that is why we need a few experienced lads who have been there and done it before. It’s all about getting the right mix in the squad.

"You need a bit of everything and hopefully, I can help with my experience."
