Walsall FC Unveil New Fan Zone at Banks's Stadium

Walsall Football Club and the Community Programme have joined forces with the Premier League Fans Fund to create a brand new Fan Zone in the DSM St. Francis Group Community Stand at Banks’s Stadium.
The club have been working tirelessly to get the Fan Zone ready for the second half of the season after receiving a grant from the Premier League Fans Fund in the summer. With the help of a number of local businesses, the Fan Zone is ready to open its doors this weekend as the Saddlers host Scunthorpe United.

The new Fan Zone will be available to all supporters with a valid matchday ticket, opening from 1.00pm on a Saturday matchday.

The Fan Zone is fully-equipped with a soft play area for under-7s, a selfie zone where supporters can tweet their images into the Community Programme's Twitter (@WFCCP), a games zone where older children can play PlayStation 4 and a snack and bar area serving hot food and drinks and items of merchandise. For Saturday’s launch, a face painter will be hand to paint youngsters' faces free of charge.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Community Programme, Daniel Mole, said; "It’s been a really worthwhile project. The Community Programme and the football club have worked in partnership to deliver this Fan Zone and we are really pleased with the end product, which we hope will be a welcome addition for our young supporters and their families.

"I’d like to thank the Premier League Fans Fund for their support, along with Adam Davy from the Community Programme and our Marketing Manager, Daniel Clarke, for their help and input."

Community Programme Director, Adam Davy, added; "It’s a fantastic facility. During the week we will benefit from the Fan Zone, especially being able to offer soft play for the younger generation.

"We are also working alongside Walsall FC’s Disabled Supporters' Association, whose members will continue to use the area as they did before, in order to add dedicated sensory equipment to help make matchday more accessible to all supporters."
