George Dobson: "The Quality - From All of Us - Has to Be Better"

Walsall midfielder George Dobson has spoken to the press ahead of this weekend's League One clash with Wycombe Wanderers, and admitted that he and his teammates have to improve if they are to return to winning ways following two defeats from their last two games.
Dobson, who is currently captaining the side in the absence of Adam Chambers and Joe Edwards, believes that his side has to be more ruthless in both defence and attack as they begin a spell which will see them play five home games in a row, beginning with Saturday's clash with the Chairboys.

The former West Ham United prospect went on to admit that the midfield has been failing to provide the attacking line with enough goal-scoring opportunities, meaning the Saddlers have been scoring to find the back of the net, as evidenced in the recent run of scoring just one goal in the last five league games.

Speaking via the Express & Star, George said; "The quality – from all of us – has to be better. We’ve let in too many sloppy goals. And we’ve got to be more ruthless in both boxes. Defensively we have got to be ruthless and when we are on the attack we have to be more ruthless.

"The quality from the midfielders has to be better and the quality from the forwards has to better. In the first six or seven games of the season we were providing the strikers with good opportunities. They would miss some but they would score some because they were getting those chances.

"But at the minute, we aren’t finding ourselves in the right positions. We aren’t creating enough chances. That means when we do get a chance we have to take it. But at the minute we aren’t. We have to get back to what we were doing."
