Walsall's Development Team Put Five Past Nike Academy

3:40 pm Wednesday, 15 August 2018
Walsall's development team were in behind closed doors action earlier today as they took on the newly re-formed Nike Academy, with John Ward's team looking to build fitness ahead of their upcoming cup outings.
Despite not entering this season's running of the Central League, Ward's side won't be short of match action as, along with various behind closed doors friendlies, they will be taking part in the Walsall, Staffordshire, and Birmingham Senior Cups, giving them plenty of potential matches to sink their teeth in to.

The Saddlers' second string, which included several players named in the squad which knocked Tranmere Rovers out of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening, ran out comfortable winners as goals from Mitchel Candlin (2), Jordon Sangha, Maziar Kouhyar, and Dylan Parker, were enough to see them ease to victory.
