Deadline Day: Walsall Linked With Leicester City Striker Josh Gordon

The first rumour of Deadline Day is here and it suggests that Walsall are poised to complete the permanent signing of Leicester City striker Josh Gordon, with the 23-year-old, former Stafford Rangers forward joining the Saddlers on a two-year deal.
Gordon joined the Foxes in April 2017, following an impressive trial period, and went on to play a major role in the club's under-23s, scoring six goals in twenty-six Premier League 2 outings, but failed to earn a place in Foxes manager Claude Puel's first-team plans.

The striker, who can play across the front-line is unlikely to be the Saddlers' only acquisition of Deadline Day as manager Dean Keates, who has extra money available following the sale of Amadou Bakayoko to Coventry City, is said to be keen to add further strength to both his defence and midfield.
