Former Bolton Wanderers Apprentice on Trial With Walsall?

As Walsall manager Dean Keates and his backroom team continue to scour the nation for potential new signings, one mystery may be close to being solved. The Saddlers' teamsheet for Friday evening's pre-season clash with Rushall Olympic included two names synonymous with the summer months as the ever-present A.Trialist and B.Trialist donned the blue of Walsall and took to the field.
The identity of defender A.Trialist was swiftly confirmed to be former Wrexham prospect Olly Marx, who is just one of a long line of Red Dragons both past and present to be linked with a move to the Midlands.

However, the name of substitute B.Trialist remained a mystery despite Luke Leahy's valiant attempts to reveal all during a somewhat loud request to receive the ball.

Following a spell of social media digging and several visits to some legal foreign language, special interest websites, we believe that the mystery man is former Bolton Wanderers apprentice, Marcos Michael.

27-year-old Michael left Bolton for Cypriot side Αnorthosis Famagusta in 2010 and has spent most of the last eight years playing for various clubs in Cyprus and Romania as, following plenty of encouragement from his family, he sought to earn professional qualifications.

Marcos, who lists EN Parekklisias, Olympiakos Nicosia, Nikos & Sokratis Erimis, Aris Limassol, Nea Salamina, Petrolul Ploiești and ASIL Lysi among his both permanent and temporary clubs, is a former Cyprus Under-19 and Under-21 international and is believed to have joined the club on trial following a recommendation by his new agent.
