Walsall boss Lee Grant admitted his team probably invited pressure upon themselves following their two-all draw away to Crewe Alexandra.
Taking the lead via Aaron Pressley's fourth goal of the season late in the first-half, the Saddlers were dragged back onto level terms by Josh March, before Pressley made it five goals in six games to put his side back into the lead.
However, the Saddlers were ultimately made to settle for a share of the spoils when Reece Hutchinson levelled the scores in second-half stoppage time.
Speaking to Express & Star reporter Paul Berry, Lee said: "We nearly held out but I think in the last half hour, if Crewe hadn’t scored, they would have been really disappointed.
"And I think we probably invited that on. We were excellent in the first half and were well worth our lead but then it was really well-worked that we went back in front.
"We were aggressive when out of possession and dangerous when we regained the ball, but then a different mentality took over us which I didn’t like, and the group didn’t like.
"They then got their second equalising goal which they probably deserved. I think we have shown that we attack with everybody and defend with everybody which is becoming engrained within the group.
"And so when we have those last half an hours, the group back themselves in those moments. We also know there are better ways to do it, and we have probably learned that lesson the hard way this evening.
"But we are still moving forward, and this is important for the group."
