Walsall's Under-18s were back in action on Saturday morning as they travelled North to take on high-flying Wigan Athletic in the latest EFL Youth Alliance fixture of the season.

Graham Biggs's side headed into the match in eleventh place in the Alliance table. The young Saddlers winning just three of their eleven games, drawing one and losing seven.

Meanwhile league leaders WIgan Athletic had won eleven of their thirteen games, and headed towards kick-off five points clear of second-placed Rochdale.

Today's match was one to forget for the young Saddlers as the Latics continued their fine form, running out winners by four-goals-to-nil. We hope to have a further update later today.
