Whitney Will Do 'All He Can' to Keep On-Loan Bury Winger Zeli Ismail

Jon Whitney has spoken of his desire to retain the services on Bury winger Zeli Ismail, who is set to return to his parent club in early January.
As several of Walsall's loan agreements near their end, manager Jon Whitney has spoken to the press and reiterated his desire to retain the services of Bury winger Zeli Ismail, who has made twenty-two appearances since joining the club on Transfer Deadline Day.

Jon, who is also keen to keep West Brom forward Tyler Roberts and Bury attacker Daniel Agyei, is hoping to come to terms on an agreement soon but understands that Zeli's form will be attractive for the struggling Shakers as they look to battle their way out of the League One relegation zone.

Jon, who was speaking via the Express & Star, said; "I am going to do all I can to keep Zeli - I would love to keep him. If I was Bury I would call him back. But we will do our best and I’d like to think that Zeli would like to stay as well.

"That’s no disrespect to Chris Lucketti at Bury. But I understand the position they are in. If I was Chris I would be trying to get Zeli back. Sometimes you have to take everything on board and do what’s best for all parties. It will be difficult to get a win-win situation from this one. But we will try."
