Rangers Linked With Walsall Loan Star Tyler Roberts

Walsall's on-loan West Bromwich Albion forward Tyler Roberts is on the transfer radar of Scottish footballing giants, Rangers.
According to media reports, Walsall's on-loan West Bromwich Albion forward Tyler Roberts is on the transfer radar of Scottish footballing giants Rangers, who have been linked with a January swoop for the Welsh Under-21 international.

18-year-old Roberts, who is out of contract in the summer, has scored five goals in seventeen first-team appearances since joining the Saddlers on-loan in the summer, and is said to be on the radar of several high-profile sides all keen to snap him up at the end of the season.

As reported earlier this season, the Gloucester-born attacker has insisted that he is not concerned about his future and is keen to concentrate on helping the Saddlers move up the table while allowing his agent to handle any and all negotiations.

Reports suggest that Rangers are keen to land the teenage sensation before the end of the January Transfer Window but would be willing to wait until the summer and sign him for a tribunal fee of around £300,000, but with clubs such as Arsenal and Marseille already being linked with a move, the Gers could find it difficult to get a deal over the line.

Tyler's six-month Saddlers loan deal is due to expire during the coming week and, despite Walsall manager Jon Whitney openly admitting his desire to retain his services, the former Oxford United and Shrewsbury Town loanee is expected to return to his parent club as they seek to tie him down to a new deal.
