Jon Guthrie Keen to Remain Unbeaten at the Banks's

Saddlers defender Jon Guthrie has spoken to club journalists ahead of Saturday's League One clash with Blackpool.
Walsall defender Jon Guthrie has spoken to club journalists ahead of Saturday's League One clash with Blackpool, and has called upon Saddlers fans to get behind the team as they look to continue their unbeaten spell at the Banks's.

Jon, who was speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, said; "We love playing at home at the moment. We’ve gone unbeaten so far this season at the Banks’s and we want to continue that this weekend against Blackpool.

"At home, we have our fans behind us and they’ve really helped us on. We want to get the ground to become that fortress and the more and more games we play and win there, the better that gets. We can’t say enough how much the fans can help us on. They stick with us when things don’t go our way and hopefully they can keep that going for us."

Jon then went on to discuss the clash with the Seasiders in more depth, revealing that he is excited to be coming up against a few familiar faces in the Blackpool squad, he continued; "Blackpool will come to us knowing it’ll be a tough game, looking at our home form. They’ve started the season well, coming up from the division below, and it’s down to us to stop that confidence early to get those three points.

"There’ll be a few familiar faces there for me. I played with Ollie Turton, Kelvin Mellor and Max Clayton at Crewe Alexandra. I know a few of them and I’m sure I’ll speak to them after the game but on the pitch, it’ll be completely professional and we’ll be looking to get three points."
