McCarthy Thanks the Saddlers as he Completes Barnsley Switch

21-year-old McCarthy has penned a three-year deal with Barnsley as he begins a new chapter in his professional career.
Former Walsall loanee Jason McCarthy, who has today completed a transfer from Southampton to Barnsley, has taken to social media to offer his thanks to both the Saints and Saddlers as he begins a new chapter in his career.

Speaking via his official Twitter account, Jason, who has penned a three-year deal with the Tykes, said; "Thank you Southampton! I've absolutely loved my time, it's been a pleasure to be a part of it.

"It's given me the best grounding I could of asked for. Naturally I feel a big attachment having spent so long at the club but I'm looking forward to continuing my progress! All be it, elsewhere. Good luck to everyone! I wish the club the very very best, thank you for your efforts with me.

"And of course, a huge thank you Walsall! Last season was amazing! I'll never forget what the club done for me and how welcome and wanted you made me feel. To win your POTS was special. Go smash it this season. I'll be cheering you on! #UTS"
