Walsall defender Kory Roberts, who recently put pen-to-paper on a new contract which will see him remain at the club until the summer of 2019, has spoken to club journalists and discussed his desire to break into the first-team.

Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Kory said; "The club gives young people opportunities. The manager has been great with me – he’s given me a lot of confidence and told me ways I can improve. With John Ward on the development side as well, he’s given me the captain’s armband and that’s also helped build up my confidence. It’s a big responsibility.

"It feels great to put pen to paper with Walsall. It was amazing playing earlier in the season - a proud moment for me and my family – and I’d like to get back in the first-team as soon as possible. That’s my target - to play as many games as possible for the first-team over the next two years."
