Walsall manager Jon Whitney has spoken to the local press ahead of this afternoon's clash between the Saddlers and Bury, and has discussed the team's recent switch to a 3-5-1-1 formation, which has seen them win two games in-a-row, scoring seven goals in the process.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Jon said; "The players have to fit the system but I think we have got the players to play that way. Flo Cuvelier and Isaiah Osbourne bring great energy in midfield and then you have Adam doing that screening role in front.

"And I think the wing-backs are vital. Their energy has to be above and beyond, but they are. I think in Jason and Joe I’ve probably got two of the fittest lads in the league. We have tried it in the past and it’s not quiet worked but the personnel have to right.

"And if you can keep all your main players fit and you’ve got good competition for places then you will get performances from that. That is not rocket science. We have got players fit at the moment. And I think that turns into points."
