On-loan Scunthorpe United defender Scott Laird has spoken to the local press ahead of Saurday's League One clash with Fleetwood Town, and reiterated his desire extend his stay at the Banks's Stadium once the January Transfer Window opens in just a few week's time.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Scott, who has swiftly become a fan favourite since joining the side in the wake of Rico Henry's departure, said; "Hopefully we can sort something out with Scunthorpe. The gaffer has made it clear to me he wants me to stay. The fans have been brilliant with me and I feel I am playing well so hopefully I can continue that into the new year."
