On Saturday afternoon, Walsall's Under 18s side played host to Carlisle United in the latest EFL Youth Alliance (North West) fixture of the season. A brief goal report is below.

Graham Biggs' Saddlers sat at the top of the table ahead of this afternoon's game, having won seven of their opening ten league games. The youngsters had failed to win their most recent game as they were held to a draw by Preston North End.

Carlisle United arrived at the game in ninth position, the Cumbrians had suffered defeat on five occasions heading into the match and were keen to bounce back from last weekend's defeat to Shrewsbury Town.

Walsall took the lead after twenty-one minutes of play as striker Cameron Peters slotted the ball home from the penalty spot.

The Saddlers doubled their lead just before half-time as Tobias Hayles-Docherty slipped the ball home following a spell of attacking pressure.

There were no further goals,as the Saddlers continued to lead the way in the Youth Alliance (North West) table.
