Lightbourne Set to Name Butterfield in Bermuda U20s Squad

Walsall midfielder Kacy Milan Butterfield is expected to be named among Kyle Lightbourne's Bermuda Under 20s squad as they get set to take on St Kitts and Nevis Under 20s in the first of their final round of qualifying for the 2017 CONCACAF Caribbean Under 20s Championships.

Butterfield, who joined the Saddlers on a one-year deal from Bermudian side Robin Hood in the summer, is yet to make a first-team appearance but has played for the reserves side as he continues to make his way in the game.

Speaking via the Royal Gazette, former Walsall striker Kyle Lightbourne, who recommended Butterfield to the Saddlers, discussed how important the 18-year-old could be to his side, Kyle said; "Milan Butterfield is available for the tour. We could have used him in Haiti but we are going to be able to draw on his experience this time around.

"Milan will bring a little experience that he’s received over the last few months of being over in England. He will definitely bring that to us and he’s one of the better players at his age group. We’ll be looking for him to be a leader for sure.

"He’s one who we will look for in times of difficulties on the pitch. From his short experience in England he would have probably come up against better players than he’s going to be playing against in Curacao."

Bermuda will face St Kitts and Nevis U20s on Friday before taking on Curaçao U20s on Sunday.
