As the former Cadbury Athletic defender continues to recover from a shoulder injury which he picked up during the Saddlers' league draw with Oldham Athletic, West London Sport report that Dean Smith's side are hopeful of agreeing a deal ahead of Transfer Deadline Day.

Brentford want Walsall’s highly-rated teenage left-back Rico Henry. The 19-year-old has been watched by a number of Championship clubs and could be set for a pre-deadline move.

Brentford, who recently signed left-back Callum Elder on loan from Leicester, could look to send Tom Field out on loan if a deal can be agreed for Henry.

Since breaking through to the first-team in 2014, Rico has been at the centre of plenty of transfer speculation with countless Premier League and Championship sides including, Leicester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Bristol City and Leeds United being linked with a move for him.

Rico is contracted to the Saddlers until June 2018 and is believed to be happy to remain at the club as he continues to attract interest from the footballing world.
