Henry Set to Complete Brentford Switch

Walsall defender Rico Henry is on the verge of joining Sky Bet Championship side Brentford, as manager Dean Smith looks set to sign his second Saddler of the summer.

Rico, who has been the subject of plenty of transfer speculation over the last year, will link up with former Walsall midfielder Romaine Sawyers with the fee believed to be around £1,500,000.

Birmingham-born Henry is believed to have agreed terms with the Griffin Park club but has seen the deal delayed due to concerns about the shoulder injury which he picked up against Oldham Athletic.

The deal, which is still expected to go through, is yet another blow to the club following a summer of high-profile departures, with the likes of Jason Demetriou, Sam Mantom, Milan Lalkovic, and Tom Bradshaw all leaving over the last few months.

The Saddlers have been linked with Scunthorpe United left-back Scott Laird, with both deals expected to go through at some point this afternoon.
