As Jon Whitney's Walsall squad continue to get back into the swing of regular training sessions, it is understood that the Saddlers are taking a look at former Stoke City and Oldham Athletic youngster Theo Vassell.

As Jon Whitney's Walsall squad continue to get back into the swing of regular training sessions, it is understood that the Saddlers are taking a look at former Stoke City and Oldham Athletic youngster Theo Vassell.

19-year-old, Stoke born Vassell, who is a central defender, began his career with the Potters but failed to make an appearance for the first-team before joining Oldham Athletic in October 2015.

Theo is currently a free agent having been released at the end of last season, and has joined the Saddlers' pre-season training upon the recommendation of ex-Oldham coach Dean Holden.
