Walsall Football Club have been linked with a move for Anorthosis Famagusta forward Andreas Makris, as manager Jon Whitney looks to boost his attacking options ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.

Reports suggest that the Saddlers have lodged a €150,000 bid, with the Cypriot side seeking around €300,000 for the 20-year-old Cyprus international.

Following a youth career with the likes of Olimpico, Arsenal Paphos, Atromitos Yeroskipou and AEP Paphos, Andreas turned professional with Paphos in 2012 and went on to make around fourteen first-team appearances before joining Anorthosis Famagusta for €20,000 at the start of the 2013/14 campaign.

He has made over ninety first-team appearances for his side over the last few seasons, firmly establishing himself in the starting line-up.

Andreas has made appearances for the Cyprus Under 16s, Under 19s and full international side and could be a big addition to the new-look Saddlers side.
