Walsall defender Rico Henry was a second-half substitute as Aidy Boothroyd's England Under 19s slipped to a two-nil defeat to Mexico U19s in the first of two friendlies as they prepare for July's Euro Finals in Germany.

The match, which was played at the Mexican National Football Centre in Centro de Alto Rendimiento, just outside Mexico City, was goal-less until the hour mark when the hosts opened the scoring via a direct free-kick.

As England chased an equaliser Mexico went on to the second goal of the game via the unfortunate Tafari Moore (Arsenal) with ten minutes remaining.

Rico came on at the start of the second half as he replaced Chelsea's Isaiah Brown and will be hoping he did enough to earn a start as he and his teammates have a chance to gain some revenge as they take on Mexico again on Monday.
