The window in which Football League clubs can register youth and emergency loans closes at 5:00pm this evening, with clubs who choose not to add to their squad having to wait until the summer to bring in any further additions.

Following the January Transfer Windows closure earlier this year, the Emergency Loan Window opened in early February and allowed clubs outside the Barclays Premier League to bring in players on short-term deals between 28 and 93 days.

Walsall currently have three players on loan at the club, as Middlesbrough midfielder Bryn Morris, AFC Bournemouth midfielder Josh Wakefield and Huddersfield Town forward Jordy Hiwula are all enjoying spells in the Black Country.

Following today's deadline, the 'Emergency Loan Window' system will be scrapped for good following an agreement between the Football League and FIFA, who saw the system as a 'loophole' that had a negative impact on the stability of player contracts.

Several clubs within the Football League will need to review their recruitment policies, with large sections of their first-team squads being held together by outside acquisitions.
