Philippines 3 North Korea 2 | Azkals Leave it Late to Grab All Three Points

Earlier today, Walsall goalkeeper Neil Etheridge started, as his Philippines side took on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in their latest AFC Asian Cup/2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The Azkals took the lead with two-minutes of the first half remaining as Global FC winger Misagh Bahadoran slotted home following Javier Patiño's saved effort.

Sadly for Neil, and despite a second game where he pulled off several fine saves under plenty of pressure, he was unable to keep his sheet clean as North Korea equalised before the break, So Kyong Jin slammed the ball home following a poorly dealt with set piece.

DPR Korea took the lead shortly after half time, with Ri Hyok Chol heading the ball past a defenceless Etheridge, an uphill task for the Azkals with Korea looking to keep pace with group leaders Uzbekistan.

The Azkals levelled the scores with a little over five minutes of the match remaining as Ingolstadt 04 II midfielder Manuel Ott finished off a superb attacking move to give the home side hope of a win.

The Philippines would go on to snatch the win as Tractor Sazi defender Iain Ramsay smashed home, again some very nice play from the Azkals as they took all three points.
