O'Driscoll - We Won't Add Players for the Sake of It

Walsall Head Coach Sean O'Driscoll has spoken to the local press ahead of this evening's Sky Bet League 1 meeting with Scunthorpe United, and has discussed his belief that it would be unfair for him to sign players on loan and put them into the team ahead of the club's existing players.
Walsall Head Coach Sean O'Driscoll has spoken to the local press ahead of this evening's Sky Bet League 1 meeting with Scunthorpe United, and has discussed his belief that it would be unfair for him to sign players on loan and put them into the team ahead of the club's existing players.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Sean, who will be taking charge of his fifteenth Saddlers match, said; "I get phone calls from clubs offering me players all the time. They are all good players, but the clubs insist they will only go out if they are guaranteed to play.

“One of the reasons why we have done so well is because the players are a tight-knit group and everyone can play their part. If I bring in three players, I wouldn’t be able to keep everyone happy and that would change the dynamic.

“You always want more players and bigger squads, but the important thing is to bring in the right players with the right character. The loan window shuts on the March 28. Then we will have some big decisions to make, knowing that we won’t be able to strengthen if we get an injury. The closer we get to March 28, the more we will look at it.”
