Earlier this morning, Walsall attacker Romaine Sawyers was named among the St Kitts and Nevis starting XI as they faced Aruba in their opening qualification game for the Scotiabank CFU Caribbean Cup 2016.

The match, which took place at Guillermo Prospero Trinidad Stadium in Oranjestad, Aruba, kicked off at midnight UK time, and saw the Sugar Boyz attempt to catch up with Group 1 leaders Antigua and Barbuda, who defeated Aruba by two-goals-to-one a few days ago.

STARTING XI | J.Archibald, A.Harris, R.Sawyers, O.Mitchum, K.Rogers, G.Williams, J.St Juste, T.Leader, J.Blanchette, L.Maynard, H.Panayiotou

St Kitts and Nevis were on top for much of the half and opened the scoring after thirty-nine minutes of play as Raith Rovers' on-loan Leicester City midfielder Harrison Panayiotou sent the ball in off the post, a nice finish during his sixteenth international appearance.

The Sugar Boyz doubled their lead on the stroke of halftime, as Sawyers took advantage of some poor defending to slot the ball home.

That was the end of the scoring as Aruba, who now exit the competition after suffering two defeats in a row, were not much of a threat to Archibald in the St Kitts & Nevis goal.

The Sugar Boyz, who now sit first in the group, will return to action on Tuesday evening as they take on Antigua and Barbuda, with both sides already through to the next stage of qualification.
